Solomon seems to lose hope as he explores oppression, toil, and the futility of human efforts. It all seems meaningless to him. He is right; without God, the cyclic nature of things and the abundance of evil in the world make no sense. Solomon was missing one crucial thing in his experiences and analysis of the world. The revelation of the true living God through Jesus Christ was yet to come. Jesus offers hope by promising rest for the weary, companionship for the lonely, and a kingdom where justice prevails. Through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus provides a profound sense of purpose, transforming the apparent futility of our efforts into meaningful service in God's eternal plan.
