Can you remember a time when you felt anxious about being left behind by your parents in someone else’s care that you didn’t know that well? Imagine what the disciples were feeling sitting together in the upper room when Jesus said that He would be going away soon but would not abandon them; He would send someone to be their advocate or comforter while He was away. Today, we know that this person was the Holy Spirit. The same Spirit that offers us comfort, strength, and assurance when facing trials. Reminding us that we are never alone and that God is always present with us.
