The parable of the good Samaritan is a lesson on compassion. Jesus challenges us to ask: Who is my neighbour? And how far does my responsibility to others extend? Anybody who crosses our path at any point is our neighbour. We all have our capacity limits, but if we work together, each doing what they can, we can collectively look after those who need it most in our community.
