The pursuit of happiness is a con. Happiness is a consequence of pursuing God and His purposes. If we chase after the myth that perfect pleasure is attainable, it will drive us to despair. Solomon found this out as he was searching for meaning in this life. Is everything in life then meaningless and just chasing after the wind? Only God can give us the ability to find purpose and pleasure in what we pursue if we pursue Him first.
